Mulligan Concept

Benefits of Mobilization with Movement

Mobilization with movement is a unique manual therapy approach utilized by healthcare practicioners specializing in the care of patients with musculoskeletal pain.

Physical therapists, and other clinicians trained in the Mulligan Concept can assist individuals in improving movement restrictions, eliminating pain with movement, and correcting functional restrictions. Mulligan practitioners seek to improve the patient’s movement with the application of pain-free hands-on techniques.

Both the clinician and the patient can quickly assess the value of this approach. If the technique(s) are warranted, an immediate improvement in pain and movement will be observed. The Mulligan Concept is not only a passive treatment approach but can also be used as a self-treatment technique at home.
